Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is an exciting week with many events going on. Some important dates to keep in mind:

Report Cards go home on Wednesday November 1.
Picture Forms will be sent home on Monday and are due Friday November 3.
Virtue Assembly on Thursday November 2 at 10:15am. All parents are welcome.

This is spirit week for students and teachers.


Monday - Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday- Black and Orange Day
Wednesday- PJ Day/Comfy Clothes
Thursday- Wacky Hat Day
Friday- Selling Candy Day


Language- we are working on a project (poster/skit/presentation) to show what we've
                   learned about online safety. This is part of Samaritans on the Digital Road.
                - we are learning about All Saints Day
                - we are researching about one saint

      Math- we are continuing to learn how to represent, compare, and order whole numbers
                 up  to 100 000

Week of October 23, 2017

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The data management unit test was sent home on Friday. Please sign the test and have your child return it on Monday.

For the week of October 16, 2017 we are doing the following things:

          Language: - we are learning to revise our paragraphs through self and peer editing
                            - we are writing a good copy of our paragraphs to publish
                            - we are continuing to learn about Samaritans on the Digital Road
                            - we are continuing to read The Wild Robot

                Math: - we have a Data Management Unit on Tuesday Sept 17th
                          - we learning to represent, compare, and order numbers up to 100 000

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. For the week of October 10, 2017 we are doing the following things:
 
     Language: - Global Read Aloud: The Wild Robot (started October 2nd)
                        - we are learning to order main ideas and supporting details  into paragraphs
                        - we are reviewing proper use of capitals and periods in a sentence
                        - we are continuing to learn about Samaritans on the Digital Road

           Math: - we are co-creating success criteria for doing a presentation
                       - we are presenting our Line Graph Assignment
                       - we have a Data Management Unit test on Friday October 17th

                              Data Management Unit:
                                 - primary vs. secondary data
                                 - discrete vs. continuous data
                                 - stem and leaf plot
                                 - bar graph
                                 - broken line graph
                                 - drawing conclusions from graphs
                                 - mean, median, mode, and range
